Design of Experiments training
Optimal DoE using Design-Expert®
D105 - 1 day on-site / 2 online sessions
Available online or on-site!
This hands-on workshop, for more experienced DoE practitioners, will explore how optimal design can take our studies to the next level! This practical course builds upon the classical designs covered in our popular Effective DoE Implementation workshop, and offers experimenters more modern, powerful and flexible approaches to constructing and augmenting designs.
We will see how Optimal (aka. Custom) designs ensure that our studies are tailored to meet our experimental requirements, rather than potentially having to compromise our experiments to comply with a more traditional design. We will use real-world examples to demonstrate the different types of factors that can be accommodated, as well as showing how constraints can limit our experimental space to avoid undesirable combinations of factor settings. Additionally, we will see how Candidate Lists can be used to force the software to select from a predefined set of experimental conditions.
Definitive Screening Designs (DSDs) are a fairly recent addition to the DoE toolkit, so we will explore how they can allow us to fit full RSM models from ultra-efficient designs. We will explain the underlying assumptions that DSDs reply upon, and provide best-practice guidance on building and analysing them - as well as practical approaches to resolving any potential issues that may arise.
We will also briefly demonstrate how Stat-Ease360® goes beyond Design-Expert®, allowing us to run custom Python code to extend the already-impressive functionality!
