Blog: 7th European DoE User Group presentations now available

A selection of slide-decks can from Stat-Ease's biennial conference in June are now available to download

As official resellers of Stat-Ease’s Design-Expert software in the UK & Ireland, it’s a great honour to be invited to attend the biennial European DoE User Group; a 3-day conference in which scientists, engineers, statisticians, consultants and academics from a variety of different industries and backgrounds get together to wax lyrical about the power of Design of Experiments and to share their inspiring real-life case studies.

This year, the event was hosted in Paris in the beautiful surrounds of Le CNAM (the National Conservatory of Arts and Crafts), an educational establishment famed for its dedication to conducting research for the promotion of science and industry.

Topics covered during the conference included a look at how Mixture Designs can be used to model sweet-taste synergy, an example of how using Response Surface Methods can optimise biomass pre-treatment, and a look at evaluating the quality of an evolving design using Design-Expert software.

Our very own Technical Director Dr Paul Nelson discussed the practical implementation of Definitive Screening Designs, and delegates heard from the founders of Stat-Ease themselves - Pat Whitcomb and Mark Anderson - who spoke about the importance of using graphics to sell your DoE story and offered an exciting look at the latest tools available in the recently released Design-Expert v11 (and a sneaky peak at what's in store for v12)!

Stat-Ease have collected a selection of the associated slide-decks from these presentations and made them available for download via their website here. Whether you have a passing interest in DoE, have successfully applied the technique to your own experiments countless times, or simply want to see how others use this powerful methodology, this is a very useful resource of information which we’d recommend exploring.

The next European DoE User Group will be held in the Netherlands in 2020; we’d encourage you to sign up to both Prism's and Stat-Ease's mailing lists to be the first to hear more.
